Pastoral Care and Local Service Working Group

Since 2003 Lochmaben Church has had a Pastoral Care and Service Working Group whose remit is to show care and compassion to our Church members by addressing their needs. This Pastoral Care Group consists of eight church members and elders who are responding to Jesus' command to 'Love one Another’, supplementing the efforts of our Minister, Deacon and Elders.

The Pastoral Care Group sends cards and church flowers to those who are ill, housebound or bereaved and has a house and hospital visiting scheme. The Pastoral Care Group provides a twice-monthly Sunday morning minibus service to help those who have difficulty getting to church. The Pastoral Care Group also provides confidential and sensitive assistance to needy individuals and groups utilising the Group’s close ties with Council Social Services, community-care charities and advice centres.
